Meet Our Pastor




Reverend Dr. Lester & Sharon Boyd


Reverend Dr. Lester Boyd is a called Man of God destined to preach God’s Word. He is a native of Winston-Salem, NC, and is the Son of Janie Boyd and the late Lester C. Boyd and the brother of Alfonzo Boyd. He is the 9 th pastor of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church and the former Pastor of Wentworth Baptist Church located in Reidsville, NC. Before his pastorate, he was an Associate Minister of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Walkertown, NC where he studied under the late Rev. Ira L. Anthony as the Pastor.


Reverend Dr. Boyd gave his life to Christ during the latter part of his tour in Desert Storm as a Combat Medic of the United States Army. It was then that he realized he needed Jesus Christ as his Personal Savior. After the war, he was sent back to Giessen Germany and then ordained a Deacon. Dr. Boyd was called to the Ministry shortly there after and was ordained August 2000 by the Rowan Baptist Association.


Reverend Dr. Boyd is an alumni of North Carolina Central University where he was a member of the Kappa Kappa Psi Band Fraternity and he attended Tuskegee Institute. His Christian Education was gained at New Hope Bible College/Liberty University where he received: AAS in Biblical Studies, BS in Pastoral Counseling and his Masters and Doctorate in Biblical Studies He received his AAS Mgt Principles from Davidson Co. Comm. College. Reverend Dr. Boyd is currently writing a book and plan to start a radio broadcast entitled “DOG TIME” (Depending on God Time) tailored for men. Dr. Boyd’s ministry proclaims “encouragement and reconciliation” through the Word of God.


Reverend Dr. Boyd is married to Sharon Denise Boyd and they are the proud parents of one son Lester Jr.; two daughters
